They did it again.
Whataburger Family Members in Zone 8200 joined forces to support the 29th Annual Teach The Children Telethon — and donated almost $140,000 to the cause.
The donation will help 4,568 needy children in the Rio Grande Valley head back to school confidently with new, clean clothes and fresh supplies — just what they need to get the year off to a great start.
The actual donation was $137,046 dollars — $9,756 more than last year. That sum also represented 47 percent of the total funds raised. In addition to working the July 23 telethon event, Whataburger Family Members have generously given their time and energy throughout the year to raise funds through All You Can Eat Pancake breakfasts, the Whataburger Golf Classic, and the Tree of Hope.
